Clinical Post Adoption Specialist - Job Code: CPAS East
Eastern North Carolina Region
FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The Clinical Post Adoption Specialist in each region is responsible for program coordination and implementation of post-adoption services through SPAN.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide informational and referral services regarding post adoption resources.Assessment and treatment provided for clients with attachment issues other mental health diagnoses.Provide clinical social work services if applicable licensure/credentialing is valid.Coordinate and/or facilitate parenting workshops and training events for special needs adoptive families.Coordinate and/or facilitate SPAN group services for adoptive parents and children.Identify and network with therapeutic and mental health resources.Provide services to the IAPP, Family Social Work Team, and Director of Adoption Services.
- Provide public relations and outreach for SPAN.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
M SW Degree or other Graduate Degree in Human Services
EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 3-5 years of child welfare/mental health experience; position requires certification as a clinical social worker or licensed professional counselor or other recognized licensed professional or with the potential to be certified. Group training and experience is preferred.
Wise Guys Educator - Job Code: WGE
To provide educational programs to adolescents that build awareness, skills, and knowledge aimed at reducing adolescent pregnancy and improving developmental outcomes in Mecklenburg County and the surrounding area.
The educator’s primary responsibilities will be to present educational programs for young males on responsibility, decision-making, goal-setting, and sexuality. Also, the educator will provide programs for parents/guardians on effective communication with teens regarding sexuality, and trainings for professionals on program replication. The educator will perform all duties in a manner which promotes the program.
- Present educational programs with an emphasis on the male’s role in prevention.
- Adhere to the Wise Guys curriculum for program fidelity.
- Recruit males for programs. Collaborate with schools and community groups.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and develop reports as required.
- Train others to implement the Wise Guys curriculum.
- Assist with program evaluation by adhering to evaluation protocol.
- Provide programs to parents on effective communication with adolescents.
- Other duties as need for department coverage or as assigned.
- Generation of monthly statistical reports and as needed.
- Display sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred. Knowledge of adolescent development and experience teaching, developing, and implementing educational programs for youth and adults, organizing community groups, and training professionals helpful.

HR Assistant - Job Code: HR
Provide assistance with all areas of the human resources functions in order to support the staff and promote the mission of the agency.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Maintain employment records and related HR documents. This includes the archival and storage of employment records according to record retention requirements.
- Maintain agency organization charts and employee database.
- Provide job seekers with information about possible employment.
- Conduct pre-employment background checks and coordinate pre-employment drug screening for new hires.
- Provide employees with Level 1 customer service as it relates to the agency benefit plans and retirement plans.
- Assist with the preparation of mandatory government reports related HR functions.

Marketing & Communications Specialist- Job Code: MCS
Support agency program and administrative staff in a marketing and communications capacity. Assist with coordination of agency advertising efforts. Assist with production of publications, marketing materials, and content of website.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Research, coordinate, and evaluate advertising across a range of traditional and online media
- Assist with production of publications, specifically Family Profile books, Child Profile books, Carolina Families, and Carolina Infants
- Assist with creating content and maintaining the website and online database of children/families
- Extract and compile lists and other information from the Raiser’s Edge
- Manage and coordinate monthly e-news for waiting families
- Assist with social media efforts on a weekly basis
- Fulfill requests for marketing support from staff
- Manage and coordinate Heart Galleries
- Coordinate and process sales of CHS holiday cards
- Organize and maintain supplies of CHS marketing materials, stationary, forms, etc.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- 4-year college degree or relevant experience required.
