Making a Difference in the Life of a Child
Becoming a Foster Parent
Foster parents are special people who provide a nurturing, stable environment for children. They may be married or single, ages 21 and over, may or may not have children of their own, and must have sufficient income for the needs of their own family. They give children the love and support they need in order to cope with feelings of grief and loss. CHS foster parents must live in North Carolina. Contact CHS if you are interested in becoming a foster parent.

Infant Foster Care

The family foster care and medical staff closely supervise the physical, emotional, and medical needs of the child. These services are available only to birth parents releasing children directly to CHS.

Family Foster Care
CHS provides specialized foster care for children who must have placement outside their own homes. Some children need short-term foster care during a family crisis, while others need care because of abuse or neglect. Families are needed to provide these children with safe and loving home environments while a long-term plan is made for the child.
