It’s hard to believe it’s only been five years since our family doubled. After partnering with Children’s Home Society to become licensed to foster and adopt, Lauren and I were thrilled that just a few months later, we learned that there were a brother and sister who were available for adoption. Just like that, Ciera and Isaiah came into our lives.
One day, we looked up, and we were a family, and today, when most people meet us, they have no idea that we are an adoptive family. The kids are comfortable talking about adoption though, and it’s an open topic in our house. It’s only because of Children’s Home Society that we have grown as a family, and the people there are our extended family – it’s like having a warm embrace from people who are cheering us on to succeed.
That’s why when I opened my own real estate company, we identified CHS as the place that was most deserving of our charitable giving. We believe to whom much is given, much is expected. Through our experience, we understand and value the unique needs of CHS families.
