Our Communities’ Most Vulnerable Children Need Your Support
Just like you, we’re concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic. Our most vulnerable children and families are facing unique challenges and additional stress. We need you, now more than ever.
As we continue to navigate the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, our first thought is for the safety and well-being of our families, children, and employees across North Carolina. Hear a message from our President and CEO Brian Maness as he shares his perspective on the current environment and why in these unprecedented times, it is important that we come together:
Our A Place to Call Home gatherings have been a vital source of support each year. Due to COVID-19, we had to make a hard decision to put our traditional fundraising events on hold this year, which means we are now facing a potential $1M shortfall in the annual funds that support our children and families.

Facebook Live Event
Friday, April 17, 10am, 12pm, & 1pm ET
Allison Maxon, child and family therapist and consultant on the 2018 film Instant Family will join us LIVE via Facebook from Southern California on Friday, April 17 at 10am ET. Joining Allison will be CHS Leader Matt Anderson to talk about the Power of Storytelling (To view, follow us on Facebook). At 12:00 pm ET, you will hear from Lauren Imrich who shares how CHS helped guide her through the foster care to adoption process which ultimately resulted in a loving and forever family. At 1:00 pm ET Allison and Matt will lead a live and informal conversation about the making of the movie Instant Family.
We also know some of our CHS families need extra help right now. And, that is why we have created the CHS Family Relief Fund. 25% of all gifts made via chsnc.org/APlaceToCallHome through the end of April 2020 will be directed to provide help for our CHS families who are suffering COVID-19 related economic hardships.
Thank you for joining us this week and we hope you enjoy hearing from our team members, program leaders, and guests, and thank you for all you do for CHS and your community.
Be safe and be well.
