Melissa is described as a ray of sunshine. She will light up any room that she enters with her smile, personality, and energy. Melissa is very outgoing and loves to help around the house. She enjoys going to church and playing outside. She likes games, going to the park, playing basketball, and talking. Her favorite restaurant is McDonald’s. She enjoys watching Barbie Dream House, Mako Mermaids and Karma’s World.

Melissa is a sweet and mannerly young girl that enjoys school. She works hard for the praise of her teachers and likes being able to socialize with her peers. She often struggles with boundaries and can be easily influenced by friends. Melissa continues to work on coping skills to improve her interactions with others. She is described as a survivor because of her strong will and inner strength. She has overcome a lot in her life, and she continues to work hard in all areas of her life.

Family is important to Melissa. She loves her brother and desires ongoing contact with him. She wants a family that is nice, treats her well, has pets and has other children in the home. Although Melissa wants to have other children in the home she has done well in her current placement as the only child.  She needs a family that will give her quality time, allow her to engage in clubs/activities with peers, is patient, has parenting experience, and has a structured routine with clear boundaries.

It is also important that Melissa has an ongoing relationship with her current foster parent. Although, she is unable to adopt her she wants to be a relational connection for her. Melissa is a spunky and sweet young girl that will be a sparkle in any family that she belongs to. She needs a forever family and believes there is one for her.
