Developing an Action Plan to Improve Practice Related to Father Engagement

Child welfare professionals often find it much easier to engage the youth’s mother and maternal side of the family. The father may not be involved in the youth’s life at all. Does it matter? The facilitator of this training will motivate participants to examine personal and professional beliefs and practices regarding father involvement, explore some of the reasons behind the behavior of uninvolved/minimally involved fathers, and develop a personal action plan to improve father engagement.
