Engaging Fathers, Part 2: Improving Practice and Policy                                                 
Engaging fathers in child welfare efforts is critical, as research has shown their involvement to be a powerful influence on positive outcomes for youth. Yet this is easier said than done. Social workers and other professionals working on behalf of youth may encounter numerous barriers to effective father engagement. This interactive workshop will examine and address those barriers. Participants are guided through strategically designed exercises to explore methods that encourage a father’s participation. This training, designed to enhance both the participants’ and the agency’s ability to effectively engage fathers, is a follow up to Engaging Fathers Part 1.
