Greensboro "Home for the Holidays" A Training Event for Child Welfare Professionals

December 13, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Free

The holidays are a time for family, and our culture bombards us with images of perfect families (thank you Norman Rockwell, Bing Crosby, and Facebook!). But for those working in child welfare, the holidays can be more stressful than joyful. Losses are magnified at this time of year—for children and adults alike. This training event is for staff and volunteers who work in child welfare, with training workshops focused on helping our youth, their families, and ourselves through the holidays.
Training Workshops include:

  • A Family for Next Christmas? Child-Focused Adoption Recruitment
  • Giving the Gift of Resilience – Learn how to stop the spread of stress and build resilience in others!
  • Managing Grief and Loss During the Holidays
  • Maintaining the Capacity to Care: Preventing and Addressing Compassion Fatigue

Lunch will be provided! Space is limited, so please RSVP early to reserve your spot.
Workshop Choices: As you enter your RSVP information at the bottom of this form, you will be asked to list your preference for one morning session topic and one afternoon session topic. These four workshops will be offered in the morning, and again in the afternoon. Workshops will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We will make every effort to accommodate the workshop preferences you have listed.
Questions? Please contact ryarbrough@chsnc.org.
We look forward to seeing you in Greensboro!
