Being a Foster/Adoptive Parent
You have decided to become a foster and/or adoptive parent. Now what? What types of support and assistance should I expect from the county and the state? What should I expect month to month before and after receiving a placement? What is shared parenting and what can I expect during birth family visits? What exactly does termination of parental rights, reunification, foster care, and adoption mean? What happens once I become a licensed foster and/or adoptive parent? We will have a special guest speaker from the Craven County Department of Social Services to answer these and other questions you may have. This group will be interactive so bring your questions and a friend!
