Trudy A Robinson, BS, Professional Trainer and NC Certified Parent Educator, has more than 20 years of experience working with adults, youth, and families in a variety of settings. Most of her work has been in foster care, working as a case manager and trainer with parents, and facilitating independent living services for youth. She joined Children’s Home Society in 2011 as a foster care specialist and joined the training team in 2013. Trudy’s work with foster and adoptive families has given her a greater appreciation of the importance of permanency for youth. Along the way, she witnessed the unintentional impact that separation from family can have on youths’ development and the lifelong challenges that often ensue. As a part of the professional training team Trudy provides training that strives to improve outcomes for youth in out-of-home care, with a focus on the prevention and recognition of compassion fatigue and the importance of self-care for the caregiver. She enjoys her work as trainer and continues to be inspired by the resilience and strength youth and families exhibit in the face of grief and loss. Trudy received her BS in Education from East Carolina University and currently resides in Winterville, NC.
