SaySo Housing Stability Application sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Eligibility requirements, usage, and expectations are below.

The funding from this housing assistance will serve youth who have experienced or are currently experiencing foster care in North Carolina. It will provide support in addressing housing related barriers such as:

  • Deposits
  • Partial rental assistance
  • Rental and utility debts
  • Essential furniture

 

In partnership with:

Requirements for standard Housing Stability assistance:

  • Applicants must be transitioning out of care through ages 26 and are currently or previously experiencing the foster care system in North Carolina
  • Applicants must fill out the SaySo Housing Stability Application
  • Applicants identity must be verified via email, letter, a phone call from social worker with the Department of Social Services (DSS), legal court documentation or Guardian Ad Litem
  • Applicants must have been in foster care on or after their 16th birthday
  • Applicants must show proof of past-due bill statement or letter from the landlord

Expectations:

  • All financial assistance will go directly to landlord or utility company
  • SaySo staff will respond to all applicants within 48 hours Monday-Friday during business hours (8:30-5pm)
