Gender: Female

Race: White or Caucasian

Alexis is a smart young lady who has a full ride to Salem College. Unfortunately, she became a quadriplegic after a car accident when she was just 2 years old. She is nonambulatory and is also on a ventilator. She has maintained a bright outlook despite the many obstacles she has experienced in her life.

Alexis needs a forever family to provide a full time residence who is also willing to work with nursing staff and arrange for her care. Fortunately, she has a team of people working with her to ensure she has access to all needed benefits and care to allow her to live more independently outside of a hospital type setting.

She loves Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers. She would also love to go to Disney World one day. Alexis loves keeping up with the trends on social media and communicating with her friends. She has access to assistive technology and a motorized wheelchair. She loves makeup and all things girly.

Alexis’s main needs are :

  • A home that is accessible or is zoned to allow for a small accessible dwelling on their property
  • A modified vehicle or one that could be modified for her needs
  • A generator or back up power source for her equipment in case of power outage.
