Family Preservation Program

We want to help more families stay together … and prevent more children from being removed from their homes. Our evidence-based program gives parents the resources to create a more stable, secure home for their children.

Why It Matters

Every day, thousands of families across North Carolina struggle to balance the needs of their children with the challenges of daily life. When these families become overwhelmed, children are put at risk of abuse and neglect and ultimately may end up in foster care. We can change this together. And when we do, families can stay together with enduring, loving, and safe relationships.

Let’s give more families a brighter tomorrow.

Intensive care for families in crisis

By strengthening families, we can prevent children from being removed from their homes. Through this program, preservation services are provided for a period of 28 days, 10 hours per week, with a minimum of 40 service hours to address the specific needs of the family.

Services are delivered to families in their own homes and communities, at times that are most convenient for them. Our specialists utilize these in-home services to build connections and support systems that enable the family and the child to thrive.

How our model keeps more families together

We are crisis-responsive and utilize evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions to best meet the needs of families. Our family-centered services empower, prepare, and equip families to safely care for, protect, and provide for their children. Our services focus on the family’s specific needs, the safety of the child, and special skills development.
