Birth Parent Services

Children’s Home Society of North Carolina has a skilled and caring team of dedicated employees that works closely with any birth parent so you can carefully consider your options: parenting, adoption or another plan of care.

Birth Parent Services

The pregnancy test is positive, and it’s not the news you were expecting. Maybe it’s just poor timing or you can’t handle it financially. It’s also possible that you are just not ready to be a parent. That’s OK.

Coping with an unplanned pregnancy can be scary and confusing. It’s not automatically a happy time for everyone. It’s a lot of responsibility, but you don’t have to face an unplanned pregnancy alone.

We can help you:

  • Consider your available options.
  • Make a plan of care for your child’s future.
  • Obtain medical care and referrals for other services.
  • Evaluate possible living arrangements.
  • Provide ongoing support.

If you choose adoption, CHS will be there to help you every step of the way before, during, and after the adoption. We offer the entire range of adoptive placement plans – from open adoption (identified) to no contact. You decide what’s best for you. You can even meet the family that will adopt your child.

Birth Parent Services are available statewide. A Birth Parent Specialist will travel anywhere in North Carolina to meet with you. For more information please call 1-800-632-1400 to speak with a caring social worker today.
