Grace’s Little Girls

Two sisters came into foster care at the ages of one and two after being removed from their birth-mom who neglected them. When Grace, our social worker, first met the girls, they were very quiet and withdrawn. They wouldn’t make eye contact or try to interact.

Grace placed the girls with loving parents in Raleigh. They always knew they wanted to adopt the girls, but throughout the journey, they focused on what was best for the girls. Just as the Mother’s rights were being terminated, other family members in other states started to step up to try to claim the girls.

Grace said the foster parents really struggled emotionally with the thought of losing the girls to strangers, but they remained easy to work with and ultimately demonstrated to all of the family members that they could provide the best family for these girls.

Two years after they came into foster care, the girls were adopted. The best part of this story, is that their parents always looked out for them and they have only known love and stability since they came to live with their forever family.
